چکیده

Background and aims – New Caledonia is a hotspot of biodiversity in the world. Among most diverse Caledonian plant families Rubiaceae, which consist 30 genera containing 220 species, with level endemism 93%. The tribe Gardenieae represented by four genera, Gardenia (8 species), Aidia (2 Randia (7 Atractocarpus (10 species). As has now been restricted to Neotropics, species remain unplaced within tribe. Pacific genus, easily characterized long imbricated stipules, feature also present several Caledonia. study are test monophyly assess phylogenetic placement stipules specifically their relationships taxa Porterandia group belongs. Material methods We investigated 63 Gardenieae, focus on group, Bayesian reconstruction (cpDNA: trnTF rpl32, nrDNA: ITS). Key results Our provides mostly supported consensus tree topology group. Five seven fall clade that comprises rendering both polyphyletic. Conclusion enlarge delimitation include 12 species. consequently confirmed as centre diversity for 31 According our study, three occur archipelago: Aidia, Gardenia, Atractocarpus.

Molecular phylogeny of eastern Asian species of Amanita (Agaricales, Basidiomycota): taxonomic and biogeographic implications

The phylogenetic relationships, taxonomy and biogeography of the genus Amanita with emphasis on eastern Asian species were estimated using sequence data from both internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions and large subunit (nLSU) of nuclear ribosomal DNA. The separation of the two traditionally accepted subgenera was not well supported. Each section of Amanita, Vaginatae, Caesareae, Phalloideae...

Molecular Phylogeny of the Myxobolus and Henneguya Genera with Several New South American Species

The present study consists of a detailed phylogenetic analysis of myxosporeans of the Myxobolus and Henneguya genera, including sequences from 12 Myxobolus/Henneguya species, parasites of South American pimelodids, bryconids and characids. Maximum likelihood and maximum parsimony analyses, based on 18 S rDNA gene sequences, showed that the strongest evolutionary signal is the phylogenetic affin...

Phylogeny of the genus Yumtaax Boucher (Coleoptera, Passalidae, Proculini): Taxonomic and evolutionary implications with descriptions of three new species

Yumtaax Boucher (Coleoptera: Passalidae) is an endemic genus from the temperate sierras of Mexico and includes six narrowly distributed species. Yumtaax species have been assigned to several genera of Passalidae throughout history, and a phylogenetic approach is necessary to understand species delimitation and interspecific relationships. This study reconstructed the molecular phylogeny of six ...

Phylogeny of gazelles in some islands of Iran based on mtDNA sequences: Species identification and implications for conservation

Different species of gazelles are among the most endangered mammals on the Asian steppes and occur in the central, southern and northwestern regions of Iran. The previous conservation efforts in this region have been incomplete due to confusion about the phylogenetic relationship among various populations. So that, different conservation programs such as ex-situ breeding and transfer of captive...

Integrating a Numerical Taxonomic Method and Molecular Phylogeny for Species Delimitation of Melampsora Species (Melampsoraceae, Pucciniales) on Willows in China

The species in genus Melampsora are the causal agents of leaf rust diseases on willows in natural habitats and plantations. However, the classification and recognition of species diversity are challenging because morphological characteristics are scant and morphological variation in Melampsora on willows has not been thoroughly evaluated. Thus, the taxonomy of Melampsora species on willows rema...
